A mission to support, encourage, and showcase the work of local artists
Due to the ongoing Covid-19 crisis, The Key West Art Center, has made the tough decision to concentrate on one event for 2021. We will be blending The Key West Craft Show, which is held the last weekend of January, into The Old Island Days Art Festival which takes place February 27 & 28, 2021. We have also decided to change the venue for 2021 to the Truman Waterfront Park.
The reason for these two decisions is that we feel we have a better chance of being approved for our permit by the City of Key West rather than if we keep the events status quo.
1. By only having one event in February, our hope is cases of COVID-19 will have decreased by that point.
2. By relocating to the Truman Waterfront Park we will be able to control the flow of the foot traffic and limit the amount of people per hour to comply with social distancing. This would be virtually impossible at our traditional Whitehead & Caroline St. location.
We understand how important Art & Craft Shows are to your livelihood. These two shows are the SOLE fundraising events for The Key West Art Center, which is why it is equally important that we proceed in the safest way possible for our artists and visitors, rather than cancel altogether. We believe you will be quite pleased with the beauty of the new location, as well as the added benefit of being able to set-up the day before!
